Radiologic Technologist - Full Time

Overview
The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The RT performs and analyzes patient x-rays and reports results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers, in collaboration with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Responsibilities
Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Apply x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups; ensure proper patient positioning and protection during imaging. Provide administrative support to maintain efficient operations, including maintenance of medical records and scanning charts. Assist with patient flow, prepare patients for examinations, conduct basic vital signs, and escalate critical cases as needed. Conduct point of care testing when needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and relay information to the provider. Follow operating instructions to perform daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs and coordinate repairs as needed. Support clinic operations and collaborate with team to ensure high-quality patient care and imaging workflow. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols; understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to radiologic testing. Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety practices; ability to identify and respond to equipment issues. Ability to position patients properly for X-ray procedures and to follow infection control and radiological safety procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills; attention to detail in image production and documentation. Education
High School Diploma required Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred Licenses and Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire, through American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA). American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire (as applicable by state law).
