Position Summary

As a Field Medical Manager (FMM), you will play a key role within our Medical Affairs organization. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong scientific relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and research partners in your region. In addition, you will act as a trusted scientific expert, driving local Medical Affairs projects and contributing to the regional medical strategy in close collaboration with the Medical Affairs Lead.

Job Functions/Key Responsibilities

Identifies, can gain access to, and develops professional relationships with thought leaders and other healthcare professionals, active and potential study investigators, and professional organizations within their assigned geography Develop, plan, implement and execute local medical affairs projects, including but not limited to regional advisory boards, medical education projects, regional symposia, patient support projects and publications Support the local adaptation and implementation of International (EU) and/or global medical affairs projects in his Country. Supports research initiatives across development and provides support to clinical site investigators Serves as a liaison between HCPs who express interest in conducting investigator-initiated research to facilitate review and consideration of research proposals Engages in scientific exchange in response to thought leader requests Can effectively articulate relevant scientific and clinical information relative to the therapeutic area to HCPs and researchers Utilizes scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations to varying audiences and in a variety of different settings including (but not limited to) advisory boards, patient advocacy groups, and payors Identifies and proactively communicates research gaps, opportunities, and relevant field intelligence to senior management to help forming medical strategy. Supports company-sponsored research, investigator-initiated research, and publications. Supports the cross-functional team by providing onboarding and continued medical training to commercial colleagues and newly hired medical colleagues. Stays abreast of emerging scientific literature and clinical data Attends medical/scientific meetings and congresses to represent Medical Affairs, strengthen individual expertise as well as capture, integrate, and summarize information of strategic interest Actively participates in internal medical affairs team meetings to contribute into the building and development of a strong and aligned global medical affairs function Fully compliant with all company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws including codices for field-based employees Completes other responsibilities in a timely manner, as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Advanced degree in science or clinical (e.g. MD, Pharm.D., PhD) Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor, or comparable role Previous experience in rare diseases and/or in hepatology or gastroenterology strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

Strong ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate complex scientific information effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German High level of business acumen and organizational skills Proven presentation skills across different audiences and settings Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new systems Willingness to travel up to 60% (overnight travel) and a valid driver’s license Launch experience is a plus Believe in core values of Mirum, Get it done; Care; Have fun seriously, and Be real.
