What You Will Do
Performs all medical procedures necessary (i.e., venipunctures, vital signs and EKGs) on all patients as required. Explains testing procedure to patient prior to test.
Receives specimens from patients.
Manually documents information required for patients’ specimens and tests completed, in various ancillary department medical records.
Visually reviews test results for completion and abnormalities.
Schedules and registers patients in the doctor’s office, answers telephones, meets and greets patients and assists physicians in all other matters pertaining to the Physician’s office.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
Experience Qualifications
1–3 years minimum of hospital or physician’s office experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of venipuncture and EKG (high proficiency).
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology (high proficiency).
Ability to work independently (medium proficiency).
Good communication skills and telephone techniques (high proficiency).
Thorough knowledge of ancillary testing procedures (high proficiency).
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA CMA certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
