Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Abilene, TX. Compensated $2,211 to $2,404 per week for a 13‑week assignment. 12‑hour shifts 07:00–19:00. Responsibilities
Clinical skills: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate. Antepartum care, high‑risk antepartum, facility births/month
Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation). Non‑stress tests (NST), reflex checks, edema assessment, clonus evaluation. Perform sterile vaginal exam, triage obstetrical patients, use external fetal heart monitoring (EFM). Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC), start and maintain IVs, use infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring. Administer blood & blood products, draw venous blood, anticoagulants, antiseizure, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy. Manage labor and delivery pharmacology (Pitocin, prostaglandins, terbutaline, amniinfusion). Assist with high‑risk delivery, vaginal delivery, forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage/shock, recover C‑section, circulatory care for C‑section. Newborn assessment: APGAR scores, collect cord samples, infant identification, metabolic screen, neonatal abstinence syndrome, newborn hypoglycemia, thermoregulation. Anesthetic support: epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, IV conscious sedation, pain assessment & management. Post‑partum care: fundus/lochia perineum care, wound assessment and care, episiotomy/incisional care, Foley catheter insertion/management. Education: car seat education, cord care, discharge teaching to parents, breastfeeding support/lactation support, baby friendly protocols. Qualifications
