The Cardiovascular Invasive Laboratory Specialist II (CILS II) performs a wide range of technical skills during Diagnostic Cardiovascular, Non-ablation Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide efficient, safe examinations. The CILS II is proficient in angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring per department policies and healthcare standards. Adheres to professional practice guidelines and participates in outstanding customer service. Responsibilities
Follow isolation guidelines (CDC), use PPE, perform hand hygiene, prepare patients aseptically, identify hazards, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Maintain department-specific competencies. Verify orders, communicate with physicians, administer treatments/medications per policy, respond to clinical emergencies, evaluate interventions, and support timely patient throughput. Produce accurate medical records for interventions, maintain record integrity, and amend documents as required. Perform all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) in the cardiovascular lab; respond to on-call requirements per policy. Perform diagnostic coronary, diagnostic electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral procedures as appropriate. Assist with orientation and training of new personnel; contribute to ongoing education within their competency. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Associate OR Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology or Respiratory Therapy Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must possess and maintain one of the following licensure/credentials:
Current valid State of Florida or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)] Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) National Registry of Paramedics (NREMT-P)
