Overview
Patient Care Representative - New York Eye and Ear at Mount Sinai Health System. The Patient Care Representative is responsible for reception and initial service to arriving patients, including registration, obtaining demographic data, updating financial information, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities
Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff. Answer telephones promptly and courteously; direct calls to appropriate personnel or departments, take messages, and ensure delivery. Collect and distribute patient referral information from affiliated physicians. Escort visitors and patients to appropriate areas; provide information to assist patients and/or visitors. Distribute departmental reading materials (e.g., Emergency Department brochure, Health Care Proxy, Patient Bill of Rights) and ensure documents are readily available. Register patients by updating or entering demographic, financial, and emergency contact data into the computer system. Verify demographic information and insurance coverage by interviewing patients or family members. Files charts and retrieves records. Deposit and reconcile all cash against deposits. Schedule appointments and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school graduate or GED; associates degree preferred. 1 year of health care patient reception or related experience preferred. Employer Description

The salary range for the role is $20.9681 - $34.6077 per hour. Actual salaries depend on factors including experience, education, and operational need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
