Under direction, acts as chaperone during WCINYP exams. Responsibilities
Serves as a chaperone in exam rooms as needed. Actively observes the examination, treatment, or procedure. Ensures appropriate chaperone documentation in compliance with WCINYP, (WCM/NYP) and DOH policies and procedures. Report to the Privacy and Compliance Office any unprofessional or questionable clinician behavior, including patient allegations of misconduct. Reviews schedules prior to exam dates to ensure correct prescriptions are available, proper protocols are in place and chaperone coverage is adequate. Responsible for communicating with referring physician offices to obtain appropriate orders for exams. Serves as a resource for patients, responds to questions and inquiries they may have in person and over the phone if necessary. Prepares exam room prior to procedure; cleans exam table for patients. Ensure standard infection control precautions are observed. Assists in restocking exam rooms and changing rooms when needed, orders medical supplies as needed. In limited capacity, may be asked to assist front desk workflow and fulfill other clerical responsibilities which may include sending and scanning information and forms, answering phones, and registering patients. Perform other duties as needed. Education
High School Diploma Experience
Able to deal with sensitive issues, and must be a responsible individual. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication skills. Licenses and Certifications
Medical Assistant certification preferred. Certification in phlebotomy preferred. Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Standard office work. Role may require the ability to work flexible hours, which may include early mornings and/or late nights and weekends.
