Float ICU/ED/Cardiology Pharmacist
Float pharmacist working most shifts within ICU, ED, and Cardiology, with cross coverage in medicine and surgery. Variable shifts, every 4th weekend, and two holidays per year.
Location & Employment Details Location: Milwaukee, WI (On‑site). FTE: 1.0. Shift: 4.
Job Summary Using independent decision making and critical thinking skills, the Pharmacist promotes medication use that is safe, effective, and considers the costs and benefits of therapy to maximize value. The Pharmacist interacts with other members of the healthcare team and patients to proactively address medication therapy issues while ensuring compliance with the department’s quality improvement plan, Joint Commission, and CMS standards for pharmaceutical services.
Experience & Education
Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or 3 years of other pharmacy experience (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE‑certified school of pharmacy is required.
Successful completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY1 or specialty residency is preferred.
Skills & Memberships
Effectively uses computers and applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook) for practice and communication.
Active membership in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) preferred.
Active membership in the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or other national pharmacy organizations as approved by the Pharmacy Administration preferred.
License Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligible for and must be obtained within 6 months.
