Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team. This position is expected to last one year. Work Schedule

Full-Time / 40 hours per week Evening Shift Position Highlights

Assist the Pharmacist in professional activities and assigned tasks including preparation and packaging of medications and other pharmacy-related functions All activities are performed under the general supervision of a registered Pharmacist Strong candidates will have knowledge and experience with sterile intravenous admixture practices preferred, and good communication and organizational skills. Primary Job Responsibilities

Fill medications from Pyxis refill sheets for the entire hospital. Deliver medications to nursing units and other areas of the hospital. Package medications in single-unit packages. Restock shelves in the unit dose fill and front counter areas. Complete monthly outdate check and cleaning as assigned by Supervisor. Fill Ward Stock Requisition sheets for Nursing Units. Package patient-specific medications in single-unit packages. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, perform bulk compounding of pharmaceuticals from a formula. Perform computer entry of prescriptions and charge/credit data. Work in the IV room and compound IV medications in accordance with USP 797 standards. Handle and prepare hazardous drugs in accordance with USP 800 standards. Required Position Qualifications

Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience Legal Requirement

State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification Condition of Employment
