Summary
Provide skilled nursing services in the home environment as directed in the plan of care developed by the Registered Nurse and Physician. The Plan of Care approved by the physician.
Licensure
Current LPN licensure in the State of Rhode Island.
Massachusetts state LPN licensure preferred.
BLS required within 60 days of hire.
Active Driver’s license.
Education
Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.
Experience
One to two years of Medical Surgical nursing in an acute care facility.
Prefer one to two years of community health experience in a certified home health care agency.
Working Conditions and Safety Requirements
Requirement to lift 50 lbs. and assist a 200–250 lb. patient, using proper body mechanics.
Must demonstrate knowledge of safety precautions and follow all Infection Control Policies and Universal Precautions.
Involves intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and driving a motor vehicle; frequent interruptions and multiple telephone communications.
Must conduct oneself in a tactful, diplomatic manner; meets all safety requirements associated with Roger Williams Medical Center.
Required to use eyes, hands, fingers with skill in administering therapy and treatments and completing all necessary paperwork.
Regular staff are required to work the hours for which hired, including weekend and holiday coverage as established by the Home Care Department.
Nurses must meet annual safety training requirements per hospital policy.
