Responsible for preparing patients and assisting physicians with cardiac catheterization procedures such as coronary angiograms, angioplasty, and stents. Collaborates with physicians and nurses, and holds responsibility for emergency call duties. Principal Accountabilities
Prepares procedure room and assists MD during cardiac catheterization and interventions including stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and EP procedures. Prepares and drapes patients, addresses their questions, alleviates concerns, and ensures patient comfort. Enters patient, procedure, and equipment details into the system. Monitors patient hemodynamic status during procedures, including ECG, blood pressure, and chest pain. Retrieves imaging and pertinent data, performs calculations for physician interpretation. Balances, calibrates, and records hemodynamic data; intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies. Operates equipment properly, adhering to safety standards and departmental policies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent Current BLS Certification RCIS/RCES or Licensed RT (ARRT) with invasive experience Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in health science or related field ACLS Certification
