Charge nurse – may or may not have patient assignment

About Facility: 457 licensed beds Trauma Level III Teaching Hospital Chest Pain Center Stroke Center of Excellence Bariatric Center of Excellence Unit Information: Beds: 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms Minimum Years of Experience required – 2 years Critical Care (Resource Team requirement) Will you accept a first-time traveler – Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team) Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, thoracic surgery CT Surgery to include CABG, Valve, Dissection Patient Ratios: RN: 1:2 Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement) Skills required: Management of vasoactive medications, various surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, CRRT Invasive lines, including arterial lines, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers Management of invasive devices, including IABP, Impella Support within the Department: Charge nurse – may or may not have patient assignment IV/VAT Team? yes RT 24/7 Intensivist 24/7 (unit based) Technology/Equipment: EMR: Epic IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips Floating: If yes, where? Within region and scope of practice Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
Region 1 -
Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
Orientation (facility and unit): NEO 2 days departmental Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other No call Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours Shift times: 0645-1915 and 1845- 0715 Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks Other notes: Scrub Color: Navy Parking: Free
