Schedule Details/Additional Information: Monday-Thursday 7:30pm-6:00am. Holiday call rotation is required.
Pay Range: $34.90 - $52.35
Atrium Health Pineville opened its doors in 1987, serving South Charlotte and surrounding areas. The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists in invasive Angio and interventional procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suite, including surgical scrub and circulation duties, and provides total patient care during and after procedures.
Major Responsibilities
Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.
Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education : Graduate of an accredited institution in Radiologic Technology recognized by ARRT; completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required, or an ARRT/RCIS graduate from a Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program.
Certification / License : Registered and certified by the ARRT or RCIS required. CPR certification required.
Work Experience : (As applicable to role per department standards).
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Must meet all required elements of competency checklist for level.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons. Exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined working area. Normal vision, manual dexterity and good eye and hand coordination are necessary to operate equipment. Constant concentration during procedures.
Preferred Job Requirements
Education: 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.
Certification / License: ACLS preferred.
