$24.00 - $36.00 Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan. Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provides the care needed. Recognizes problems, recommends solutions and responds effectively to assist in emergent situations. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents. Administers medications or treatments as ordered and provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary. Maintains effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public. Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans. Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Requirements: Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. If position requires IV therapy/management skills, North Dakota requirements apply (graduation from a Board approved AASPN program with IV therapy in curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing). Minimum of 18 years of age. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across the life span or have at least 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility. Specific roles may have additional education, training or experience requirements. Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with state nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges. Maintains department-specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training. Benefits
