Para Educator – Dickinson Elementary (Lake Washington School District)

We are seeking a dedicated Para Educator to join the Dickinson Elementary team. The role supports teachers with individualized and small‑group instruction for students with physical, behavioral, or medical needs, while also developing daily living and behavioral skills. The position includes counseling, classroom preparation, equipment management, and supervision of students in various school settings, including the library, resource rooms, and on the bus. Job Summary

Assists teachers with individualized instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Supports students’ special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies. May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self‑contained classrooms, playgrounds, or transportation. Education & Experience Requirements

At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credits. OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment with a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation required upon hire. Must pass a criminal background check. Work Conditions

Work schedule: 10:10 am – 4:10 pm (5.5 hours per day); may be subject to change. Set in the Eastlake Learning Community at Dickinson Elementary. Hourly rate: $28.07 per hour (Salary Schedule SC7). Salary & Benefits
