Overview
LCSW Corrections Licensed Clinical Social Worker
for a facility that houses individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Eloy, Arizona. The Behavioral Health Provider is a licensed independent clinical social worker who serves as a subject matter expert in mental health and substance use disorders. The Behavioral Health Provider possesses a high level of skill in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health concerns and/or serious mental illness or mental disorders. Responsibilities
Conduct mental health evaluations to enhance the behavioral health treatment plan development and services for detainees with serious mental illness or serious mental disorders. Referral to acute and/or inpatient mental health care as clinically determined. Provide direct mental services, including on-site counseling, individual and group psychotherapy within diverse therapeutic modalities. Provide substance abuse education and behavioral analysis for detainees identified with mental health and substance use problems. Conduct specialized programming within a Modified Therapeutic Treatment Community model. Consult with medical, contract staff, and other healthcare professionals to conduct and provide education and training on continuity of care, treatment, monitoring and management of patients with co-occurring diagnoses. Provides brief counseling, psychotherapy, group therapy, behavioral analysis, and substance abuse education. Develops, manages and monitors patient treatment plans in coordination with behavioral health technicians to assess patient level of functioning and progress. Respond to and/or coordinate response to medical emergencies as needed. Assess and evaluate the mental health of residents according to DSM-5 (DSM V) diagnosis and refer to outside treatment facilities if necessary. Work with ICE/OPLA legal counsel, providing written evaluation reports on the mental health status of individuals placed on Seriously Mental Illness (SMI) List. Provide weekly reports/updates on individuals on the SMI list and report on those housed in segregation to HQ Behavioral Health Unit. Coordinate with HQ Behavioral Health Unit for continuity of care for placement in, or treatment of, residents in appropriate settings as required by ICE. Utilize EHR system for completing clinical assessments, evaluations, placement referrals, and transfer/discharge summaries. Provide oversight and consultation to behavioral health technicians and interns as applicable. Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Minimum of one year experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the independent level. Current, permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in Arizona. High skill level in assessing, recognizing, and treating behavioral or other mental health conditions that affect successful treatment. BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Preferred Experience: in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting (not required).
