Overview
Tampa General Hospital’s Radiology Department provides state-of-the-art imaging for a variety of conditions and interventional invasive procedures. The department serves as a training facility for medical students, residents and fellows in collaboration with USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Tower Radiology, offering multiple outpatient imaging locations. Responsibilities
Under supervision of the Interventional Radiology Section Manager and according to established policies and procedures for various age groups of patients, performs diagnostic procedures to assist Radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of illness. Performs radiographic procedures according to protocols established for various age groups of patients, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a wide variety of technical procedures with assistance including but not limited to aortogram runoffs, arches, carotids, and extremities. Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis with independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Work in a sterile environment and may require venous access. Assume responsibility for designated area or procedures as required. Assess the age-specific needs of patients and perform duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of TGH. Qualifications
Graduate of a two-year AMA-accredited radiologic technology program. Registered ARRT. Current CPR certification. Florida licensure or must obtain licensure within 90 days to practice as a Radiologic Technologist; cannot perform exams prior to licensure. Two (2) years of progressively more responsible experience in a hospital diagnostic imaging department. Additional Job Details
