Radiologic Technologist - Nights at Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois
Location: Javon Bea Hospital Pay Range: $26.63 - $39.95 per hour Shift: Monday-Thursday, 10 hour shifts, third shift Hours per week: 40
Shift differential for qualifying shifts: PM shift 15% of base pay, up to $4.50 per hour; Night shift 20% of base pay, up to $6.00 per hour.
Job Duties
Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm and fluoroscopic procedures.
Reviews patients’ clinical history to ensure appropriate orders and labs are within range; reviews with radiologist as necessary.
Provides patient education.
Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
Positions patient to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest while considering patient ability and comfort.
Initiates basic life support when necessary.
Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
Follows ALARA principles through accurate exposure factors and radiographic techniques.
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
Reports and documents XR safety incidents/adverse events per protocol.
Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
Uses radiology information systems (including PACS); completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.
Assists with medical record/image sharing as necessary.
Documents all information pertinent to XR/FL procedures in the electronic medical record.
Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners.
Applies patient safety principles during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient’s bedside.
Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
Prepares contrast media and assists in administration.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
ARRT Radiography registration required
IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin
CPR or BLS certification (Approved) within 90 days
1 to 3 years experience preferred; will consider new graduates
Education And Experience Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Certifications And Licensure
ARRT Radiography registration (required)
IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation (Illinois, if applicable)
WI-DSPS radiographer license (Wisconsin, if applicable)
CPR or BLS certification (within 90 days)
Additional Requirements
Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for positions requiring it)
Background checks as applicable
