This opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing buildings and structures into complex buildings and industrial complexes. The company is expanding its foothold in the Critical Facilities Market and applying its expertise to brownfield data center projects, converting existing buildings to data centers for Hyperscale, Colocation, or Enterprise markets. The Superintendent will oversee field activities, supervise all field construction work by subcontractors, trades, and self-performed work, and maintain constant communication with subcontractors to keep the project on time and within budget. Ensure equipment is on site when needed. Share responsibility with the Construction Project Manager for developing and adhering to the project budget, actively participate in preconstruction, and ensure the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. Lead and mentor assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, and other field personnel. Maintain a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations throughout the project. Responsibilities
Plan and organize data center projects as a General Superintendent Maintain liaison with the Site Project Manager, MEP Superintendent, Supervisors, on-site trades, and vendors to facilitate construction activities Manage and oversee staff, subcontractors, and suppliers while following OSHA, safety, quality, and EEOC programs Track production of all contractors in relation to the schedule Manage material and other costs, procurement, QA/QC (mock-ups, pre-install), civil, structural, and general building coordination Monitor special inspections Manage punch lists, inspections and certifications by governing authorities, owner training, and completion of as-builts Collaborate with the Project Manager to create, implement, revise, and manage the project schedule and timeline Manage and track financial aspects of contracts, including scope, costs, progress billing, income/expenses, and monitor labor, material, and equipment costs; forecast project status Order material and equipment Maintain project documentation and an organized filing system per SOP Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines; translate these into clear field work statements Update and maintain drawings, logs, task lists, punch lists, diaries, and inspection notebooks; document project communications; create and track change orders and reports (violation, incident, change order, inspection reports as needed) Represent the company in project meetings Qualifications
5+ years of field supervision experience Experience managing data center construction projects is a plus Experience on construction projects with budgets of $50M+ Client-facing, client relationship, and client management skills Familiarity with the construction process of critical facilities (MEP, civil, structural, and general building) Responsible for manpower counts of all trades on the project Coordinate inspections for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fireproofing, drywall, steel, and concrete trades Willingness to travel to project sites and be onsite Monday to Friday Experience with general contracting or construction management in general building and civil construction Military/veteran experience is a plus, with relevant roles including Navy nukes, EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, coast guard, army power generation, and related fields Proven project management and construction experience Submittal Instructions
