ABOUT THE ROLE Citadel CPM is in search of a highly experienced Behavioral Health Construction Project Manager I and II (HCAI V) to join our team. In this role, you will manage medical/healthcare/behavioral health facility design and construction building projects through planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, environmental permitting, construction, and close-out. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing capital improvement projects for construction.
ABOUT YOU You are a HCAI V Project Manager I professional with minimum of 5 years and a HCAI V Project Manager II professional with minimum 7 years of experience in HCAI project/construction management and concurrent field construction experience. Able to manage and coordinate all aspects of mid-to-large sized design and construction for capital improvement projects overseeing all the trades. Create/implement project plans, monitor progress and ensure quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
Manage mid-to-large sized design and construction projects for capital improvement across healthcare facilities.
Develop and implement project plans, monitor progress, and ensure quality and compliance.
Coordinate all aspects of projects with trades, stakeholders, and clients.
Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, and scope.
Oversee design, permitting, construction, and close-out phases.
Basic Qualifications
Experience with the State of California Health Care Access and Information V (HCAI V, formerly OSHPD) – Psychiatric Hospitals.
Work experience in project planning and development.
Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
Proficiency in Building MEPF systems/components and technology.
Ability to develop and control project scope and maintain project budgets.
Ability to develop and review project schedules.
Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
Ability to facilitate project team and client meetings.
Ability to negotiate and prepare change orders.
Ability to monitor and coordinate construction activities with project stakeholders.
Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
Ability to set and manage project expectations.
Knowledgeable in CEQA/NEPA.
Experience with multiple delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build/Design-Build/CMAR. Knowledgeable in contract management (GMP/lump sum) project delivery method.
Knowledge of Public Contracting Code and practices.
Knowledge of LEED.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of HCAI V experience.
Experienced and knowledgeable in the management of medical/healthcare/behavioral health facility design and construction projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management from a recognized college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential.
Experience with HCAI I – Hospitals and/or HCAI IV – Correctional Treatment Centers.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, licenses, skill set, experience and/or performance. Base pay is only one component of Citadel’s total compensation packages for employees.
Pay range for the Behavioral Health Construction Project Manager I is $150,000 - $165,000 per year.
Pay range for the Behavioral Health Construction Project Manager II is $165,000 - $185,000 per year.
