Responsibilities

Foster a culture of safety through:
Enforcing safe work practices and 5S/housekeeping standards
Conducting layered safety audits and ensuring timely closure of findings
Maintaining a current and effective emergency response plan
Collaborate with the General Manager on:
Resource planning: staffing, capital, facilities, and new programs
Capacity planning and forecasting using corporate tools (molding, painting, assembly)
Champion Summit Lean Manufacturing System (SLMS) principles:
Practical Problem Solving (PPS)
Kaizen events
Standardized Work, Continuous Flow, Pull Systems, Jidoka
Ensure implementation and adherence to SLMS best practices
Actively participate in product development and launch planning
Ensure plant readiness aligned with Knowledge-Based Product Development (KBPD) and customer‑specific requirements
Foster cross‑functional collaboration with corporate engineering, sales, and materials teams
Lead, coach, and develop plant leadership team
Facilitate daily staff meetings with clear assignment of responsibilities and required action plans
Promote use of Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act (PDCA) for issue resolution and performance improvement
Support talent development initiatives in alignment with corporate goals
Ensure plant compliance with:
IATF 16949 (Quality)
ISO 14001 (Environmental)
SPI systems and corporate standards across all functions (Quality, Maintenance, Materials, etc.)
Uphold and reinforce company philosophy, ethical standards, and HR policies
Support the GM in managing customer relationships and ensuring effective communication
Maintain positive employee relations and a respectful work environment
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
Partner with the GM to allocate resources for facility upkeep and security
Maintain strong floor presence across all shifts to engage employees and monitor operations
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or 7+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing leadership role
Minimum 5 years in a technical or management capacity
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, budgeting, quality systems, and HR practices
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Effective communicator and team leader
Ability to synthesize and act on complex information
Minimal travel required (less than 5%)
