Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, and supports government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification, and resettlement. The Case Manager I is responsible for working with clients participating in refugee resettlement programs (including programs such as Preferred Communities and Social Adjustment Services). The role includes intake, assessment, and providing quality case management services for all assigned cases. The successful candidate will demonstrate dignity and respect toward potential clients and enrolled clients, show initiative while balancing multiple responsibilities, and be able to work independently while following up on assigned cases.

Responsibilities

Assess client eligibility for program services, complete intakes, and create individualized service plans. Provide services identified on the service plan in a timely manner. Make necessary referrals within and outside of the agency as needed. Ensure that services are provided in accordance with LEP policy.

Maintain client files, update case notes, and manage calendar. Ensure that all client information and activities are tracked in Client Track and Refugee Management Solution.

Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with outreach, training volunteers and interns, airport pickups, and project support.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

One (1) year experience in an administrative setting or within refugee populations

Valid Texas driver’s license

Skills and Attributes

Able to demonstrate organizational and planning skills

Able to work effectively with diverse individuals

Able to document case notes accurately

Able to provide group and individual orientations for clients

Able to handle confidential client information

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite

Strong verbal and written communication skills
