Postdoctoral Research Associate – Haar Lab Department:

Chemical Biology & Medicinal Chemistry, UNC‑Chapel Hill

Position Summary The Haar Lab, part of the Department of Chemical Biology & Medicinal Chemistry, is advancing cardiovascular therapy development by leveraging light‑responsive tools. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to build and use optogenetic and protein‑design tools to study signaling in cardiovascular adaptation and disease. Competitive candidates should have an interest in collaborative translational projects, optogenetic tool building, protein design, or cardiovascular pharmacology.

Responsibilities

Design and construct light‑responsive tools to interrogate cardiovascular signaling pathways.

Perform in vivo and in vitro experiments to assess tool efficacy and physiological impact.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members across the Eshelman School of Pharmacy and the Department of Chemical Biology.

Analyze data, prepare figures, and write manuscripts or reports.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Ph.D. in chemical biology, molecular biology, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or related field (or candidate is completing Ph.D.).

Required Qualifications, Competencies, & Experience

Knowledge of protein design and adenoviral delivery systems.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, & Experience

Experience in cardiovascular research (a plus).

$50,000.00–$70,000.00
