Job Description
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Lab Technician to join our Caleb Brett team at the Texas City facility. This role involves performing numerous chemical and physical tests according to ASTM methods within a sophisticated laboratory environment, collaborating with chemists and technicians.
Shift/Schedule: Rotating Shift Schedules, including Days and Nights

What You’ll Do
Perform numerous chemical and physical tests based on ASTM methods or industry standards.
Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
Clean glassware and test equipment.
Assist with preparing reagents as needed.
Record data on appropriate data sheets and report data to the LIMS system.
Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
Comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
Participate in cross-training as needed.
Qualifications
High School/GED
Ability to multi-task in high production testing areas.
Good math and observation skills.
Proficiency using LIMS applications and chemistry lab processes.
Excellent team communication, coordination and cooperation.
Ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
Ability to utilize non-complex and complex instrumentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) preferred.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to lift/carry up to 44 lbs regularly, up to 49 lbs occasionally.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
Prior experience with various chemicals.
Preferred: High school diploma or GED preferred.
