Overview
Mechanical Engineer – Remote. Chenega Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects. This role includes providing technical leadership for construction drawings, specifications, and existing system condition studies. Candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical issues and develop working relationships. Project clientele may include higher education, commercial, hospitality, municipal, and institutional facilities. Chenega Worldwide Support (CWS) is a premier provider of Architecture and Engineering support services to federal customers around the world. Founded in 2016 to support federal operations OCONUS, CWS is dedicated to getting the job done wherever the location. Responsibilities
Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of market types Develop HVAC system designs for projects based on scope of work and client RFPs Write/edit project specifications Conduct code compliance research Coordinate work with other disciplines Provide construction administration services Perform QA/QC of detailed design documents, reports, and studies Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) 5+ years of design/engineering consulting experience preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license or on the path to obtain Background check with the ability to obtain a secret clearance Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to travel to client locations as needed Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) Proficiency in Revit software Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office Knowledge of Building Codes Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA) Ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple projects Analytical problem-solving and timely decision-making abilities Positive work ethic and attitude Office-based with some time in the field and at client locations How you’ll grow
