MISO
In this role, you'll analyze complex technical data to determine the most cost-effective mix of new generation resources and supply options, ensuring system reliability and adaptability to evolving policies, technologies, and market conditions. Your insights will inform MISO members, stakeholders, and regulators on the economic and reliability impacts of emerging energy policies. You will utilize advanced modeling tools such as PLEXOS, PROMOD, and PSS/E to support your analyses.
What You'll Do:
Develop future grid planning scenarios over a 20-year horizon, considering economic shifts, policy changes, and technological advancements.
Support resource planning by running capacity expansion simulations with tools like PLEXOS and other modeling software.
Communicate complex data insights clearly through visualizations and narratives that highlight key implications.
Enhance MISO's economic modeling frameworks for the bulk power system using leading simulation tools.
Gather, validate, and analyze input data from various sources to produce accurate and actionable reports.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience.
Preferred but not required:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Planning, or related fields.
Experience with resource planning, economic modeling (e.g., PLEXOS, PROMOD), power systems engineering, or energy policy.
Experience working with ISOs, RTOs, regulatory agencies, or utilities.
