Job Summary Guardian Flight is looking to hire an experienced Fixed Wing Pilot Instructor to join our team. The instructor will conduct training for Guardian Flight’s fleet of King Air 200/350 aircraft in classroom, simulator, and in‑flight for both initial and recurrent courses. The instructor will ensure new‑hire pilots receive proper training and are competent to conduct air medical flight operations in accordance with the company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, SOPs, relevant FARs, airplane flight manuals, and company policies. The instructor will also conduct check rides per FAR 135.293, .297 and .299 after gaining experience in Guardian Flight operations.

Annual Salary Range:
$118,000 – $123,500
Incentives:
5,000 annual stipend (must complete Initial Check Pilot Training)
15,000 Sign‑On Bonus (must complete Training and Check Ride)
40,000 Retention Bonus (6‑month waiting period, 3‑year program)
No training contract
Company paid ATP‑CTP (if not already completed)
$50 daily per diem plus commute and travel expenses paid
Up to 5,000 relocation assistance
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 2,500 flight hours
Single‑pilot IFR experience preferred
Previous medevac and/or cargo experience preferred
1,000 hours PIC airplane
500 cross‑country hours
500 multi‑engine hours
100 night hours
100 hours in a King Air
100 hours of actual or simulated instrument time (at least 75 hours actual flight)
Commercial, instrument, and multi‑engine land certificates
FAA Second‑Class medical issued within the preceding twelve months
Multi‑engine commercial (ATP preferred)
CFI preferred
Unexpired/valid driver’s license
Instructing background and experience heavily weighted
Familiarity with Garmin avionics required
Preferred Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent desired
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage classroom activities for new‑hire and recurrent pilot training
Plan classroom assignments and manage daily training schedule
Conduct training activities in accordance with the FAA‑Approved Training Manual
Distribute classroom assignments and ensure compliance with required exercises
Instruct on the use of company documentation, aircraft manuals, load manifests, dispatch risk assessments, operations manual, aeronautical charts, etc.
Instruct on loading/distributing cargo, passengers, and patients, ensuring weight and balance computations are within prescribed limits
Instruct on pre‑flight duties, including engine inspection, fluid levels, airframe condition, control surface integrity, avionics database currency, personal equipment, ramp securing, and logbook
Instruct on securing cargo and addressing passenger comfort and emergency equipment requirements
Instruct on determining optimal aircraft operation altitude, considering turbulence, hazardous weather, oxygen requirements, and passenger comfort
Perform duties as simulator instructor for initial and recurrent training courses
Ensure trainee pilots perform pre‑flight inspection, equipment loading, weight and balance, and weather briefing for assigned flight
Obtain briefing information regarding flight purpose, weather, special operating procedures, airport facilities, navigational aids, and specific limitations
Instruct on filing FAA flight plans and providing information to the company Communications Center for flight following
Promote a positive team attitude with flight crew members, medical clinicians, maintenance technicians, and communication specialists
Maintain ongoing knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, aircraft operational/equipment changes, and company policies
Ensure all required flight logs, records, and maintenance forms are properly completed and submitted
Perform maintenance check flights and aircraft repositioning flights between maintenance bases and operational remote bases
Assist in coordinating, distributing, and developing pilot training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, training manuals, curriculum guides, homework exercises, and associated training management forms
