Job Title: Auto Mechanic - Level 3 FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports to: Store Manager (or similar position) Job Responsibilities
Inspect and test vehicles following Commercial Tire standards and complete diagnostics and repairs (including alignments, steering and suspension diagnostics and repair, brake inspection and replacement, heating and a/c system diagnostics and repair, engine systems diagnostics and repair). Inspect vehicles at time of service and communicate findings to the front counter; document needed repairs. Perform vehicle inspections and complete Vehicle Inspection Reports accurately. Diagnose and repair steering, suspension, braking, heating and a/c system, and engine maintenance services. Perform alignments according to manufacturers' specifications; conduct fluid exchanges and oil changes; replace air filters; service customer vehicles per Commercial Tire guidelines. Complete VIR inspection and related documentation processes; quote repairs when appropriate; maintain a clean and organized work area. Support purchasing and returns; adhere to safety and operational standards and audit requirements. Complete required training and maintain certifications (or equivalent, e.g., Ford); maintain tools required for duties. Possess and use personal tools as needed; perform other duties as assigned. ASE certifications: A4 Steering and Suspension ASE A5 Brakes ASE A6 Electrical System ASE A7 Heating and Air Systems 609 AC certification is required for air conditioning service ASE A8 Engine Performance (preferred but not required) 18 years or older; valid driver's license and insurable driving record High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Mechanical aptitude 10+ years of experience in the automotive technician field Regular attendance and punctuality Qualifications and Competencies
