Pacific Pros is seeking a Construction Inspector for Construction Projects to represent the Owner for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA). Role: Electrical/IT Inspector. Location: Los Angeles, CA. Status: Full-time on-site. Work location requires local candidates for this position. Opening: Summer 2025; Immediate start available. Working hours: TBD; typical dayshift is 6:00am – 2:30pm or 5:00am – 1:30pm, Monday–Friday; night shift is 10:00pm – 6:30am, Sunday. Position Description Summary
Serve as Owner's representative. The Electrical/IT Inspector will support LAWA’s Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within LAWA’s Capital Improvement Program. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of electrical and IT systems across building and terminal construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications, and review construction documents including blueprints, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports documenting the who, what, when, where, and how of observed activities, and identify issues, deficiencies, or safety concerns in a timely manner. Verify contractor compliance with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70, 70E, 72) and LAWA-specific standards. Track and document time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities; assist in validating contractor progress payment requests based on the approved schedule of values. Support special inspections and testing activities, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies as needed. Perform inspections of electrical installations including underground utilities, high-voltage switchgear, electrical panels, conduit, lighting, and fire life safety systems; inspect IT infrastructure including low-voltage systems, security, access control, and AV systems. Ensure professional conduct when interacting with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, and the public. Qualifications
Current ICC Certification as Commercial Electrical Inspector. 3+ years of experience performing electrical/IT inspections for building construction (airfield tasks require 3+ years of airfield lighting experience). Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years. Proof of Cal-OSHA 30-hour training within the last 4 years. LAWA SIDA badge prior to official start. Ability to work day, swing, or night shifts as required to meet the construction schedule. Valid Driver’s License and compliance with Pacific’s Vehicle Policy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and project/document control tools. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team. Knowledge of City of Los Angeles and County of Los Angeles standards. High school diploma required; higher education preferred. Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Experience as an electrician at the journey level in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings. Experience overseeing building code compliance on significant construction projects. Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including contractors, engineers, and city officials. Ability to identify and address deficiencies, ensuring construction meets required standards; openness to learning agency-specific prescriptive items. Essential Job Duties
