Manage bariatric/surgical and medical weight loss product line. Responsible for the management of staff, maintaining supplies/equipment and maintaining employee files, competencies, schedules and staffing. Develop/maintain department standards and pathways to meet federal and regulatory requirements. Monitor program and department budgets and ensure accurate billing of charges. Coordinate patient interaction, verification of bariatric insurance coverage and benefits, pre-op evaluation, patient education, post-op follow up, and support groups. Collaborate with physicians to develop orders and protocols; implement data collection and reporting to ensure program success. Collaborate with other departments; develop exercise programs and nutritional protocols to meet needs of bariatric patients. Coordinate marketing activities including development of marketing materials and patient education seminars. Responsibilities
Coordinate entire patient interaction with bariatric and Medical Weight Loss programs. Perform pre-op and post-op evaluations on 100% of cases. Engage >95% of patients in support groups/seminars. Develop exercise and nutritional programs specific to bariatric and medical weight loss patients. Achieve 95% compliance by all patients in exercise and nutritional programs as outlined in established protocols. Develop medical weight loss program workflows and processes. Develop marketing campaigns, educational materials and seminars to promote programs. Develop monthly marketing campaigns to promote educational seminars. Supervise staff. Set clear expectations as outlined in the performance evaluation/job description; provide ongoing performance feedback and open communications quarterly. Ensure retention rate >86%. Develop and maintain department standards, pathways and procedures. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, State and Federal regulations as required. Monitor program and department budgets. Meet budgeted utilization, revenue and expenditures and develop action plans to meet budget within 5% of projections. Maintain professional relationships with physicians. Develop physician orders and protocols for the program. Integrate new protocols as required. Set clear annual expectations for all direct and non-direct reports; ensure understanding across the team. Communicate effectively to keep staff informed about plans, policies, and expectations. Ensure completion of all job-specific mandatory education and leadership education; apply leadership principles on the job post-training. Enforce Bayhealth policies and procedures and take corrective action to achieve fair, timely, and consistent enforcement. Financial: Generate favorable financial results by achieving or surpassing the department’s operating budget. Develop capital and operating budgets and submit budgets on time; monitor and report as needed. Ensure productivity standards are met and identify at least one net income improvement suggestion per fiscal year. Planning: Develop strategic and operational plans, timelines and resource allocations; drive timely and efficient implementations. Education: Bachelor Degree in Related Field Credential(s): Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian Experience: Required: Three years of relevant clinical experience as an RN or Registered Dietitian. One year of experience leading a similar program Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience
