Diagnose and repair complex electrical/electronic equipment issues. Assist in installing new equipment, including main wiring, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes. Develop solutions for equipment upgrades to enhance productivity, safety, or ease of operation. Demonstrated mechanical skills and electrical/electronic capabilities are required. Tools and Equipment
Includes schematics, VOM, megger, oscilloscope, conduit bender and threader, electronic test instruments, micrometers, vernier calipers, welding, cutting torches, meters, lathes, hand tools, ladders, parts, forklift, etc. Materials
Includes conduit, electrical wire, PCs, VFDs, motors, brakes, wood, pipe, solder, flux, sheetrock, concrete, etc. Supervision and Guidance
Provide technical guidance to lower classified personnel and may lead projects. Working Procedures
The following are typical duties, but other tasks may be assigned: Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment, including mechanical issues when necessary. Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures safely and effectively. Assist in wiring and installation of equipment, including high voltages. Design piping/mechanical systems and produce as-built sketches. Minimize downtime through rapid diagnosis and repairs. Read and interpret complex drawings and schematics for precision work. Assist in machine installation requiring precise alignment. Follow all safety protocols outlined on job safety cards. Complete all required paperwork accurately. Maintain a clean, safe work environment. Report problems to supervisors. Handle hazardous waste according to procedures, including proper storage, inspection, and labeling, with annual training compliance. Special Skills and Experience
Completion of advanced military service school or equivalent two years of relevant experience. Vision of 20/30 corrected and ability to differentiate colors. Ability to read detailed drawings and schematics. Own mechanic’s hand tools. Basic knowledge of HVAC systems. Ability to obtain a lift truck license if needed. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED.
