Kimball Medical Solutions is a Medical Device Contract Manufacturer in Indianapolis, IN. This position will report to the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager and have specific responsibility for one or more customers. The QE will oversee the management and improvement of key performance metrics. Depending on customer support needs, more than one customer may be assigned to the QE. Quick Summary
You will work in a team to exceed customer expectations for new and existing products. The Quality Engineer may communicate directly with customers and make data-driven decisions to prioritize quality. Leads the development and ensures the integrity of production and process controls with SPC. Assists in troubleshooting and problem-solving using data analytics, collaborating with other functions to resolve issues. Basic Background Requirements
FDA or Life Sciences industry experience with + years in medical devices, molding, or related technology. Proficiency in Statistical Analysis and Tools. Knowledge of ESD, GD&T, MSA. Understanding of Quality Systems and ISO 13485 standards. Experience with Quality Control Plans, PFMEAs, and PPAP requirements. Background in CAPA and root cause analysis. Experience in writing quality procedures and problem-solving disciplines. Experience in Design transfer processes for new product launches. Strong problem-solving skills and processes. Short-term Goals (0-3 months)
Learn KEIND Quality System requirements. Understand Customer Requirements and Quality flow downs. Participate in customer meetings, manage related data and action items. Familiarize with Quality and Manufacturing documentation and processes. Contribute to NCR and NPI processes. Adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture. Mid-term Goals (3-6 months)
Co-own Corrective Actions to closure. Reduce customer PPM and improve internal yields. Implement data-driven actions to improve customer metrics. Investigate customer RMAs and complaints. Participate in supplier audits. Review customer documentation for process and equipment requirements. Improve inspection methods and manufacturing processes. Train others on quality requirements and procedures. Long-term Goals (6-12 months)
Implement corrective actions to eliminate failure modes. Analyze quality data for trends. Document and improve processes and documentation. Enhance product, process, and team performance. Guide NPI production and ECN documentation, maintain revisions. Ensure products are designed for manufacturability and collaborate with customers on DFM. Review customer documentation for process and tooling needs. Optimize use of materials, equipment, and personnel for quality and cost.
