Clinical Mental Health Counseling - Training & Clinical Administrator
Summary: We are seeking a NYS Licensed Psychologist with administrative and training experience to serve as the Training & Clinical Administrator for the new D’Youville Community Counseling Center. This role oversees the daily administrative operations of the training clinic, including using JANE the EHR system, delivering supervision for PsyD practicum students and serving as emergency clinical backup for mental health counseling practicum students, and collaborating with other university departments and community partners for patient recruitment and care delivery.
Responsibilities
Operational oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic, including patient recruitment, intake, scheduling, records management, JANE, and billing.
Policy implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce clinic policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and ethical standards (e.g., HIPAA) and meet accreditation requirements.
Financial management (tentative): Oversee clinic budgets, expenses, and revenue cycles to ensure financial stability.
Quality assurance: Monitor patient flow, improve service delivery, and lead quality assurance and improvement projects to enhance patient care outcomes.
Interdepartmental liaison: Coordinate between clinic staff, trainees, faculty, student affairs and other D’Youville departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration for mental health care.
Community liaison: Promote the community counseling center and recruit patients for student training sessions for PsyD and CMHC in collaboration with D’Youville and community partners.
Clinical Training Coordination/Oversight
Training coordination: Provide logistical supports for students, interns, and postdoctoral trainees, ensuring appropriate patient referrals to meet learning needs; collaborate with Directors of Clinical Training for PsyD and CMHC programs and with individual programs for student performance feedback as needed.
Trainee supervision: Provide direct and/or indirect clinical and administrative supervision to student trainees; on-site supervision for PsyD trainees engaged in therapeutic and assessment-based service delivery.
Electronic Health Record - JANE: Train incoming practicum PsyD and CMHC students on Jane.
Qualifications
Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, School, or Health Psychology; full, current, and unrestricted license as a Psychologist in New York State.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical and supervisory experience; demonstrated administrative and training experience, preferably within a training clinic or academic medical center.
Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Preferred: Experience or training in integrated care or working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams; experience managing training programs, familiarity with relevant accreditation standards; experience with a variety of psychological assessment measures and evidence-based evaluation procedures; graduation from an APA-accredited program; completion of an APA-accredited internship.
