Job Responsibilities
Clerical Duties – Operate and maintain unit information systems, including medical record integrity, forms management, timely response to faxes, printed material, mail, and accurate patient data. Complete admissions, discharges, transfers, and short-stay documentation. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility for patient charges/rental equipment and ensure unit maintains a designated par level of clerical supplies.
Environmental Management – Ensure a safe, accessible, efficient environment. Monitor patient location, traffic flow at the front desk and unit, and compliance with visitor policies. Report maintenance needs, collaborate with clinical, admitting, information systems, and environmental services staff to coordinate efficient patient flow.
Systems Management – Identify system problems, respond to communication/patient alarms, and execute with a sense of urgency. Review and revise staffing information.
Communication – Demonstrate Cincinnati Children’s CARES behaviors in all interactions. Interact with parents/guardians to obtain non-clinical information, review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information (HIPAA, Informed Consent, Advanced Directive for patients 18 or older). Maintain in-depth knowledge of HIPAA standards.

Schedule: Part time – Day shift (United States of America)

Weekly Hours: 24
Compensation Expected Starting Pay Range: $17.49 – $20.99 per hour (annualized pay may vary based on FTE status)
