This position evaluates patients referred to the Cardiac Rehabilitation program, develops and implements effective management/treatment plans, and supports program growth and professional development. The Senior Exercise Physiologist conducts day-to-day operations of the program and prepares/maintains department records for ongoing program accreditation with the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The role participates in the Cardio-Vascular Surgery program and in planning and implementing the Cardiac Rehab program as an ongoing part of the CV program. People Essential Functions

Promotes a positive work environment and leads the team to achieve optimal department results. Collaborates with all members of the patient care team and communicates pertinent patient care information effectively. Role models professional communication skills. Serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to other Exercise Physiologists; precepts clinical rotations, new employees, and interns; provides guidance to therapists and support staff. Assists with protocols and objectives to optimize staff performance, teamwork, patient safety, and customer service. Develops skills of team members and supports ongoing improvement. Delivers high quality patient care as outlined in the care plan, providing a nurturing environment, constructive feedback, and direction to achieve positive outcomes. Service Essential Functions

Performs complete and comprehensive evaluation of patients to identify level of function and to develop the plan of care. Conducts initial evaluations for Cardiac Rehab, sets goals, develops treatment plans, and adheres to timelines and guidelines. Maintains professional relationships with the inter-professional team and assists management with daily operations as assigned. Oversees workflow, caseload, and patient processes for the assigned team, ensuring quality outcomes and patient safety. Quality/Safety Essential Functions

Assesses patients regularly, monitors progress toward goals, and adjusts plans as needed. Communicates with the care team to modify treatment plans and discharge planning; provides safe, effective exercise interventions. Supports implementation of patient treatment protocols and best practices; identifies opportunities for corrective action and participates in process improvement to meet quality and safety targets. Monitors and reports on quality and safety metrics; contributes to patient experience improvement initiatives. Finance Essential Functions

Uses resources efficiently to maximize time and equipment utilization; manages tasks to meet labor productivity standards. Ensures accuracy of patient education documentation and procedures; completes documentation timely and handles charges reconciliation as applicable. Growth/Innovation Essential Functions

Identifies learning needs, pursues continuing education, and maintains an individual development plan (IDP). Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field Master's degree preferred Work Experience

Four years' experience in a Cardiac Rehab Program. May consider HM employee with three years' progressive responsibilities. Licenses And Certifications - Required

BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) within 90 days Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Competence to safely perform the job with ongoing skills/competency assessments. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English; effective communication with patients and team. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; customer service oriented. Basic computer knowledge; experience with hospital and office software for patient/exam documentation. Ability to manage conflict and track analytic data. Supplemental Requirements
