Postdoctoral Fellow, Basic Science & Transition Research - (2404498) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience. JOB DESCRIPTION:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct experiments to determine exosomes as mediators of biological clock functions during pregnancy and engineer exosomes for targeted delivery of exosome-based drugs. The candidate will develop new approaches to study exosome function, exosome as a drug delivery vehicle, or exosome cargo as a drug, and conduct cell and molecular biology approaches. Besides, exosomes' impact on feto-maternal units will be studied using intrauterine organ on chip devices or organoids. In addition, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be involved in cell biology work, cell line preparation from human placental tissues, and conducting molecular biological experiments using these cells to understand feto-maternal communication during pregnancy. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD degree with a research background in extracellular vesicles is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD with 1 year of experience in cell and extracellular vesicle biology approaches. Knowledge of organ on a chip and organoids are preferred. SALARY:
