Full Time / Salary / 12-month Faculty WORK SCHEDULE Monday-Friday. Times vary depending on department-related activities. JOB SUMMARY SNU is seeking a Christ-centered, strategic and visionary leader to serve as Chair to advance the School of Nursing (SON) mission of excellence in nursing education. This individual will have opportunities to build on current growth and expansion, leading the SON in a BSN curriculum intent on the development of nursing professionals highly prepared to enter the healthcare field and provide outstanding patient-centered care. RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions: Develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for the School of Nursing, aligning with the university’s strategic goals and addressing emerging trends in healthcare and nursing education. Foster a culture of innovation, sense of belonging, and continuous improvement among a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students. Recruit, mentor, and retain a highly qualified faculty and promote faculty development in teaching and service. Supervise faculty and staff through strategic collaboration, workload assignment, evaluation. Lead the continuous assessment and enhancement of curricula to ensure relevance, rigor, and responsiveness to the evolving healthcare environment. Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of technology and evidence-based practices into the educational experience. Oversee strategies for student recruitment, retention, relationship-building,
academic support
and success. Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards set by relevant bodies, such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Oklahoma Nursing Board. Lead the preparation of accreditation documents and facilitate site visits, maintaining the school’s reputation for excellence. Develop and manage the school’s budget, aligning resource allocation with strategic priorities. Assess budget to assure sufficient funding for faculty and lab supplies/equipment, including those essential for high-fidelity simulation. Work with the University Advancement Office and the Grants Office to seek external funding opportunities through grants, partnerships, and philanthropy to support program initiatives and growth. Ensure transparent and effective communication within the school and with university administration. Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote operational efficiency and academic integrity. Work under pressure and meet deadlines. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships. Serve on university and faculty governance committees. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene. According to SNU policy, all faculty and staff must profess faith in Jesus Christ, possess a strong personal Christian commitment and be committed to the SNU mission to make Christlike disciples through higher education in a Christ centered community. Active, unencumbered RN license in Oklahoma Minimum of a graduate degree in nursing, preferably an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, or DNP) from a regionally accredited institution Minimum of 2 years full-time equivalent practice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting At least 1 year teaching experience as a full-time nursing faculty member in a nursing education program leading to registered nurse licensure Capacity for learning to work with SON-related technology Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment with interest in active and collaborative learning P

Experience with curriculum design, program implementation, and educational best practices Supervision Received: Receives supervision and work assignments from the VPAA of the College of Undergraduate Studies.
