Summary
The main function of a lab technician is to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The typical lab technician is expected to use general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures. Responsibilities
Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis Perform sample preparation including aliquot samples, spike and trace samples, prepare reagents, bottle samples, prepare concentrations, separation, sonication, liquid rack set up Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled Prepare general lab paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and lab logbooks Wash lab glassware to prepare for next day?s samples Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills Work independently and manage time effectively Analyze data and accurately document and record results Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED required 0-2 years experience required Seniority level
