Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistants.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.

Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department, and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.

Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.

Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.

Instruct patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.

Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.

Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.

Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to:

Therapeutic exercise including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait, and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training. Functional training

Manual therapy

Airway clearance techniques

Integumentary repair and protection

Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities

Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.

Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) therapy program.

Current IL state licensure.

CPR Certified

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with therapy documentation (NetHealth).

Must pass a medical and physical examination based on job qualifications, requirements, and duties/responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to lift 501bs- 1001bs.

Use of proper body mechanics and techniques for bearing weight.

Must be able to climb stairs, stoop, and reach when performing daily work.

Ability to assist and perform patient transfers (including but not limited to: stand pivot, two-person, sliding board, Hoyer lift, non-weight bearing) safely and effectively with or without mechanical devices.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and other duties.
