Job Summary
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, adhering to professional practices and ethical standards.
Licenses and Certifications
Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA license or certification. CPR certification is preferred.
Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program Experience:
0-1 years Roles and Responsibilities Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions. Help patients perform exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve their functional abilities and independence. Maintain up-to-date documentation of patients’ responses to therapy, progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support ongoing progress. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing observations and insights.
