Hoffer Plastics is hiring a Mold Maker / Mold Repair for 1st Shift (7:00am-4:00pm) with starting pay $29.00-$34.75 per hour, full-time, in Carpentersville, IL. Join a leading plastic manufacturing company that values innovation, teamwork, and safety.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on injection molds.
Modify and repair molds, jigs, and fixtures while maintaining extremely close tolerances.
Diagnose problems and determine corrective actions on injection molds.
Grind complex forms to very close tolerances.
Complete jobs quickly and efficiently with minimal errors.
Maintain a safe work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Accurately document work performed.
Collaborate with co‑workers, customers, and management to foster a positive work atmosphere.
Grow job‑specific knowledge and use continuous‑improvement tools.
Physical Requirements
Walk/stand whole shift.
Bend at waist, twist, and turn frequently.
Kneel/crouch and climb occasionally.
Lift below waist and above waist up to 75 lbs, rarely above shoulders up to 10 lbs.
Push and pull up to 75 lbs.
Perform manipulative finger, wrist, hand movements.
Occasional keyboarding.
Exposure to oil, dust, fumes, and odors.
Wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; TMA certificate preferred.
5+ years of mold function and repair experience in a plastic injection environment.
Extensive knowledge of mold repair and modification tools.
Proficiency with EDM, jig grinding, lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hot‑runner function and repair knowledge a plus.
