Role
As Senior Durability CAE Engineer, you will lead the assessment of durability attributes for various vehicle subsystems such as suspension, body structures, power‑train, battery pack, interiors, exteriors, closures, and seating. You will also be involved in testing activities including test plan development, test‑to‑CAE correlation, testing & validation, and regulatory, certification, and compliance testing for full‑system, sub‑system & component level tests.
Drive design changes by working with design teams, running trade‑off studies and design optimization loops.
Responsibilities
Perform strength, stiffness, and fatigue analysis on different vehicle subsystems (chassis, closures, body structure, power‑train, etc.).
Correlate test and CAE results.
Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work.
Create FEM meshes from CAD or rough sketches.
Support design engineers to ensure parts meet durability requirements.
Use various CAE software tools (nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost, OptiStruct, HyperWorks CAE products, ADAMS, etc.).
Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques; participate in new CAE method development, process automation, and benchmarking tasks.
Qualifications
5+ years of related experience; Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in vehicle‑level CAE analysis, testing, and development.
Proficiency in linear, non‑linear, fatigue, design optimization, and dynamic analysis using industry‑standard CAE tools.
Strong fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics and materials.
Proficiency in ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost, nCode, OptiStruct, or similar CAE software.
Knowledge of vehicle performance requirements and experience in deriving load cases, setting performance targets, and developing testing and validation plans.
Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level
