Aerolab is looking for a qualified PLC Programmer. The candidate will design and program PLC-based control systems in coordination with our controls engineering team. This is a full‑time position.
Responsibilities
Interpret control specifications, drawings, and schematics.
Create and maintain functional specification documents, P&ID diagrams, and instrument lists.
Program PLC systems using Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, RSLogix, and MicroLogix platforms.
Select PLC, electronics, and instrument hardware.
Maintain engineering bill of materials for control systems.
Test and report control systems.
Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure successful development and deployment of project deliverables.
Work as part of a product design team, following guidance from design and project engineers.
Requirements
Proficient in PLC programming with Allen‑Bradley experience.
Strong knowledge of industrial control systems and data acquisition.
Experience with motion control systems.
Computer‑aided drafting skills and standard engineering practices.
Familiarity with engineering terminology.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
Good time‑management, work ethic, team participation, and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple activities and meet target dates.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Education and Experience
4‑Year degree in Mechanical Engineering / Engineering Technology.
Or 2‑Year degree and 2+ years of experience in PLC programming.
Or 4+ years of experience in mechanical design.
Location and Travel
The position is based at Aerolab’s main facility in Jessup, MD.
Infrequent off‑site travel may be required.
