Job Description Entry‑Level Mechanical Engineer to be based in the Arlington, VA office. Expected to begin on June 2026.

Responsibilities

Perform specific portions of broader assignments under mentorship of an experienced engineer.

Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.

Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and construction drawings.

Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques for HVAC systems using BIM.

Propose approaches to solve new problems using modifications of standard procedures.

Perform work in accordance with agreed‑upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Perform comparative analysis of system configurations and evaluate building performance metrics through advanced energy simulation and modeling software.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Motor Vehicle Records review will be conducted.

Preferred Qualifications

Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT / FE).

Experience utilizing industry standard software packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar.

Full understanding and ability to complete accurate and coordinated project design assignments.

Experience sizing ductwork systems and modeling in 2D and 3D platforms.

Experience sizing hot water, condenser water, and chilled water piping systems and modeling in 2D and 3D platforms.

Knowledge of ASHRAE Standard 62.1 – Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality.

Knowledge of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 – Energy Standard for Buildings.

Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Comfortable working in a high energy environment with frequent deadlines.

Successfully performed the role of a design engineer on various projects.

Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Additional Information

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Travel is required.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule, including in‑office work in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Arlington, VA on a scheduled basis.
