Overview
Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing) — New York, United States. Primary Responsibilities
Assist in formation of construction drawings and specifications for public and private clientele. Perform fieldwork to investigate, measure, photograph, and document existing conditions. Perform calculations, analyze data, and generate decision matrices to support design objectives. Computer drafting and design using AutoCAD. Provide construction administration services, including reviewing submittals, shop drawings, RFI responses, and contractor coordination. Client interaction and teamwork with other Project Team members. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or other related disciplines. 1-4 years of experience in an engineering/architectural consulting services firm. Strong interest in detailing and design development for a wide array of projects with challenging conditions. Experience with municipalities and other government agencies as clients. Knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., NYS Codes, NFPA). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with project management software (e.g., BlueBeam, ProCore, Submittal Exchange). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
EIT/FE exam passage is a plus. Physical Demands
