Overview

Structural Mechanic III in Gulfstream Aerospace, Tulsa, OK. The role involves performing a variety of structural assembly operations in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision, ensuring conformance to specifications and customer expectations. Responsibilities

Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations; ensure parts/assembly meet requirements. Perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft. Move to new tasks with only a moderate, short-term impact to established goal hours and schedule. Rivet structural members, assemblies and parts using required tools (e.g., portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets); remove fasteners without damaging structures. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, rivet hole patterns, and use adhesives, sealants, and solvents following standard procedures. Check all work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection. Instruct and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints and engineering orders; develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installation difficulties. Maintain and use logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs). Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners; shape and form complex angles and configurations per blueprints or information. Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Requests (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO); perform rework to ensure conformity. Maintain a neat and orderly work area; support company 5S & Lean initiatives and comply with safety regulations; use personal protective equipment as required. Additional Functions

Participate in continuous improvement activities. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment; return items to tool room after use. Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment. Properly collect and dispose of waste fluids and solvents. Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft. Exchange job-related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turnover meetings and direct communication with leadership. Qualifications
