Elemet Group The Welder II will be under limited supervision, joins and fabricates metal material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
Overview Location: Princeton, MN — 3rd Shift. Reports To: Operations Manager. Direct Reports: No. Pay Type: Hourly. Job Type: Direct. Requisition ID: 54302.
Responsibilities
Advanced understanding of welding necessary to produce metal components
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tag out
Weld two or more different types (MIG, TIG, etc.)
Set up components for welding according to specifications
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws with Quality team
Adjust welding machine as needed
Report daily production quantities to meet set parts per hour
Maintain accurate counts of materials and products
Perform daily maintenance on welding machine
Complete necessary quality checks and daily communication
Set up workstation according to safety standards for maximum efficiency
Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment according to procedures
Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
Complete the first part approval process for complex jobs
Tack weldments or components for robotic welding if required
Touch up points in the robotic weld cell as needed
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
2 years welding experience required
Ability to safely perform work in varying conditions
Flat Weld Certification (1G – 6G) preferred – AWS D1.1 and stainless
Skills and Competencies
Working knowledge of welding with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Effective problem-solving, attention to detail, sense of urgency
Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, fillet gauges)
Forklift certification (where applicable)
Ability to follow hoist safety protocols
Self-motivated with initiative
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly
Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
Excellent hand/eye coordination
Ability to effectively use power tools
Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Must consistently wear personal protective equipment
