Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Project Civil Engineer in Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, or Long Beach, California. In this role, you will work on complex projects involving innovative urban stormwater and natural surface water management systems, green infrastructure and Low Impact Development design and planning studies, large-scale stormwater capture systems, flood mitigation and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis that can include dam breach studies, floodplain mapping, stream restoration, surface water, watershed, and stormwater runoff monitoring and modeling, industrial and construction site NPDES permitting support and inspections, and Clean Water Act regulatory support. Familiarity and/or work experience in geotechnical engineering and mechanical/process engineering are also applicable. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Direct and support multi‑disciplinary project teams;

Perform and oversee detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies;

Develop innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment;

Direct design, regulatory permitting and compliance, and construction support of general civil and water resources infrastructure projects (e.g., stormwater BMPs, grading and drainage, wet utilities, roads, etc.);

Direct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, analysis, and calculations;

Prepare technical reports (e.g., preliminary/basis of design reports, drainage studies, feasibility studies, etc.);

Oversee CAD design and drafting of design/construction documents;

Direct the preparation of exhibits and figures using GIS;

Direct construction administration, support, oversight, and management;

Conduct field investigations and construction support services;

Develop construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;

Prepare erosion and sediment control designs;

Interact with client representatives; conduct client briefings and manage project financials;

Develop and support new business pursuits in response to client and team requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for qualifications (RFQs),

Task and project‑level responsibilities include scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;

Consistent with our sell‑manage‑do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring, and;

Help broaden our reputation via publishing and presentation at prominent industry conferences.

Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline. (required)

Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering or natural resources science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline. (preferred)

Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G. CPESC, CPSWG). E.I.T. required, P.E. preferred.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

At least 7 years (8+ years preferred) of professional, research or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)

Experience with modeling and design and modeling software tools such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, WSPG, HydroCalc, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and/or ArcGIS preferred.

Experience performing feasibility assessments or studies for civil infrastructure projects preferred.

Experience developing and submitting civil design plans for permit preferred.

Experience with construction and compliance inspections, management, administration, and/or oversight tasks preferred,

Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)

Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel. (required)

Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.

Compensation

Minimum Salary: $100,225/year / Maximum Salary: $182,390/year (Los Angeles, Long Beach)

Minimum Salary: $95,865/year / Maximum Salary: $174,470/year (Costa Mesa)
