Lead Maintenance Technician (Maintenance)

Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000
Overview The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and general operations of select YWCA locations. This includes maintaining equipment, ground upkeep, coordinating repairs, and enforcing safety measures. They will monitor, inspect, and make necessary repairs or installations to support a safe, efficient, and effective maintenance program, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and construction. They will track, relocate, and record equipment, property, and supplies as required by the department, while completing other duties as assigned to meet or exceed daily operational needs, including 24/7 emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance routines.
Perform and train maintenance technicians on various trades (electrical, lighting, grounds, HVAC/Small package units, carpentry, painting and fire systems/security).
Perform and train maintenance technicians' tasks such as re-lamping, plumbing installation and repair, replacing restroom stalls and partitions, cleaning drains, general mechanical repairs, and general cleaning.
Relocate YWCA property to meet operational needs and assist in setting up furniture, signage, fixtures, and parts.
Access and repair system issues or report for contractor assistance as needed.
Assist in the 24/7 emergency on-call rotation.
Safety and Compliance/Lock out/Tag out.
Address employee issues and concerns with colleagues when they arise.
Enforce safety procedures ensuring a safe environment/playground equipment/fire inspection.
Work to maintain safe, clean, and functional facilities.
Handle any issues that arise while maintaining a positive, productive environment.
Ensure that YWCA premises are secure and clean.
Formal Education/Experience
Valid drivers' license
High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical or vocational school education
EPA Universal Certification
Familiarity with project management technology preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Coordination and supervision skills to assure outside contractors as well as internal staff perform projects and work orders within the policies, procedure and all building and fire/safety codes.
Understanding HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems
Proactive maintenance planning and execution to minimize downtime and costs
Thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures, and the ability to enforce them.
Skills in selecting, managing, and negotiating with vendors for supplies and services
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting, relocating furniture and equipment, snow removal, ladder work, electrical, hand and power tools
Perform duties during or after inclement weather
Able to climb ladders and roof up to 30 feet
Frequent walking, bending, and lifting/carrying objects up to 50 pounds
Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer
Hand-eye coordination for operating computers and office equipment
Communicating and exchanging information via phone or in person.
Driving to different locations for inspections or maintenance tasks
