In this co‑op you will help test prototype products for RF & optical performance against engineering and industry specifications. The position takes place over the spring‑summer or summer‑fall of 2026 and is located in Syracuse, NY. A housing stipend may be available for candidates who need to relocate. This position reports to the Lab Manager.
What you will make an impact in the following way
Test products against environmental parameters including temperature cycling, humidity, exposure to UV, electromagnetic interference, salt fog, vibration, etc.
Test products for mechanical performance and durability; read and interpret schematics and specifications as needed to determine the functionality and performance of products.
Operate test equipment through prescribed sequences, record test data, and prepare detailed test reports. Compile data and graphically represent findings as required.
Work with the Lab Team to conduct failure and root‑cause analysis of products.
Assist with calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of lab equipment.
What you will bring
Education – currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical engineering, technology, or a related discipline.
Knowledge & skills – experience with LabVIEW or other comparable object‑oriented programming is preferred; exposure to engineering test lab equipment with mechanical or electronic systems is preferred.

Applicants can expect a compensation range of $23–$27 per hour and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is a reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting.
